PLUMS WITH KNIFE

I am wondering why I put the knife in there...I've never peeled a plum. This knife did not have a shadow at all. I went back to my computer to look at the original reference photo and.... no shadow. I am so used to putting in the shadows to ground an object, so I almost just made one up but decided to leave it as it was.

I have this shrub rose in my front yard. I love them because they are white, pink and coral.

I painted this one from life and it started wilting before my very eyes. They must be called old fashioned crepe roses because they look like crepe in a very short time! It was completely shriveled the next day but the bud was in full bloom.

VAST PACIFIC SHORE

PACIFIC SHORE  SOLD

I did this painting from one of the the photos I took from the deck at the Lincoln City, Oregon Beach house. The people walking the beach looked tiny, adding to the immensity of the Pacific Ocean.
This is a small painting, so depicting the tiny figures was best achieved by painting the gesture and loosely popping on a few lights.
