PROTHONOTARY WARBLER

I photographed several colorful birds at the spring bird-banding on Fort Morgan peninsula last week.
These birds just completed migration from the tropics, about a 40 hour flight. Fort Morgan is one of their first land stops in the States. I have no idea how this really yellow warbler got the name prothonotary....what does that mean anyway??
More birds to come.
Also, I was really excited to find that one of my paintings was accepted for the 2013 Oil Painter of America Salon Exhibition. I am honored!

What a great group of artists I had at the workshop!!
I love Ava Jane's door color wheel and the saying underneath...IMAGINATION IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN KNOWLEDGE!!
Wow..Look at that breakfast.. mini quiches, sausage balls, fresh fruit skewers and cinnamon monkey bread..and she served lunch too. That's right..both days
