Well, we made it through the storm okay, no damage here. Lots of rain and 55 mile an hour winds. It pretty much cleared up here by noon today.

All of my workshop class in Gulf Shores showed which was good as I was afraid that little hurricane warning might scare them off, but they were brave!!

I can relate to these apples. With this bad economy, sometimes I feel like I

too, am just waiting for the chopping block! Fortunately, I know that God is in charge and things will work out (Roman 8: 28)

Painting the transition between the reds and the greens on the front apple was a little tricky, but I think I got it. I love all the reflections on the metal bowl. Reflective surfaces always present a great opportunity to play with some interesting colors.

I had company last week and this week I have been sick with a cold so I am a little behind on my painting. I did this oil a while back from a photo I took at the New Orleans zoo (I think). I usually go the zoo in every city I visit so I could be wrong about the location. I could not remember the exact type of sunbird they are and found that there are many different types of sunbird. Do any of you know which one these are?

This is the first time I have done eggs that I can remember. They are really a lot of fun to paint. Maybe they are fascinating because a living creature emerges from them! Unless you eat them of course. When painting a white object you must really look for the colors in them which are reflected from what is around them.
