TACKY JACK'S by ELIZABETH BLAYLOCK

9 x 12 oil on panel
This is another of the paintings I did on site at the Gulf Shores plein air event earlier the is month.
I find nothing leisurely about painting outdoors as one has to paint like the possessed to capture the changing light.  I love my studio!

VIEW FROM PIRATES COVE BY ELIZABETH BLAYLOCK

9 X 12 OIL ON HARDBOARD PANEL
This is one of the paintings I did a couple of weeks ago in the plein air event that was hosted in Gulf Shores.  The staff at the Pirates Cove restaurant was kind enough to let me set up in the shade on their back porch.  This was a dreamy location for a plein air painter.  I am really accustom to the comforts of my studio but I thought I would give this a shot.  My hat goes off to all the out door painters!
Also I found that the cheeseburgers the rustic Pirates Cove restaurant are truly outstanding and the view is magnificent.

ADORABLE IN BLUE AT THE BEACH

9 X 12 OIL ON HARD BOARD CANVAS PANEL
This is a one hour demo I painted for my workshop a couple of weeks ago.
This figure was a lot darker than the background with a few touches of light hitting.
Keeping the edges soft lends more of an impression of movement.  The figures in the background
were painting with just a couple of stokes capturing the gesture..
