PURPLE PANSIES
5 x 7 OIL ON PANEL
SOLD
The spring flowers are popping up all over and I love it. I find painting flowers is always a challenge. You really have to simplify and keep subtle value changes to catch their soft color changes. If you would like to purchase this painting or have questions email me at eliblaylock@yahoo.com

MR HUMMINGBIRD

MR. HUMMINGBIRD
5 x 7 OIL ON PANEL
This little fellow was really hard to catch on camera. He moves quick! I do not know what kind of hummingbird this is. He has red on his throat and a white ring around his neck which you can't see here. Hummingbirds are always fascinating to watch and to paint with all their iridescent colors. MR. MALLARD DUCK

MR. MALLARD SOLD
5 x 7 OIL ON PANEL
For questions or purchasing email me at eliblaylock@yahoo.com This is one of the ducks I raised a few years ago. I needed ducks to eat the snails that were invading my garden. Also I heard they keep snakes away. Unfortunately, Mr. Mallard is no longer with us as he flew the coop or he got too friendly with a coyote.

WHERE'S A PENCIL SOLD
5 X 7 OIL ON PANEL
I always have plenty of writing implements around, but when I need a pencil or just a plain pen, it seems I have everything in the world but that. I buy huge packs of pencils, but then the questions becomes where's the pencil sharpener, or where 's the batteries for the pencil sharpener.

ROSE WITH APPLE
5 x 7 OIL ON PANEL
For questions or purchasing email me at eliblaylock@yahoo.com This is an old fashion tea rose. They bloom here almost all year long. I love them because their colors change from white to pink to red. My other roses are starting to bloom and the first blooms are always the most beautiful.

COUPLE WALKING THE SURF

WALKING THE SURF
5 x 7 OIL ON PANEL

This is another little beach scene I did last week. The weather here today has not been quiet that nice. It has poured down all day. All the little spring flowers are going to be so happy as it has rained very little in the last two months. They need a good start as they get very little help from me. I did manage to finish three little paintings today and I am quiet pleased about that. I wanted to get ahead a little, as this weekend is the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Show and I will be in the Fairhope Artist Gallery, demonstrating and helping with sales. If you are in the area come by and see me.

MR. PINE WARBLER
5 x 7 OIL ON PANEL
This little guy's plumage looks like a warbler all dressed up for the ball. If you have questions or would like to purchase this painting email me at eliblaylock@yahoo.com

MR. RED BIRD SOLD
5 X 7 OIL ON CANVAS BOARD

PALM TREES
5 x 7 OIL ON PANEL
$75 USD + $10 S/H
I thought I would do something a little different today and give everyone a bird break. Trees always look so simple to do, but that rarely is the case. It seems like the simple subjects take a little more creative thinking. If you have questions or would like to purchase this painting email me at eliblaylock@yahoo.com
For all of ya'll asking about classes, I will be giving a weekend workshop in Fairhope, Alabama on
April 24, 25 and 26. Call The Fairhope Artist Gallery at 251 990 8763 to sign up. This one fills up quick so don't wait to long.

MR CRAZY JAY SOLD
5 Xx 7 OIL ON PANEL
This fellow is confused. He thinks he is a wood pecker. That's what I thought when I heard him pecking on the bird feeder. Something about the light made it appear that his belly was yellow. Reflected I guess, as I could not find a yellow-bellied blue jay anywhere in my bird books. Perhaps I have created another new species!!!. BEACHCOMBERS 2

BEACHCOMBERS 2 SOLD
5 x 7 OIL ON CANVAS PANEL
This is the same scene I did yesterday, but with a different composition. It is absolutely gorgeous today with sunny 75 degree weather and on days like this the beach is always full of people. I think spring is finally arriving. If you would like to purchase this painting or have questions email me at eliblaylock@yahoo.com

SILVER AND FRUIT

SUGAR BOWL WITH FRUIT SOLD
10 x 10 OIL ON GALLERY WRAPPED CANVAS
Well, this is another demo I did for my class. We were working with painting reflective surfaces. The key word here is reflective. A lot of the colors used depend on what is around the object. For purchasing or questions email me at eliblaylock@yahoo.com
