ORIENTAL DISH WITH PEARS

8 X 10 OIL ON CANVAS
There is something fascinating about painting this little blue oriental dish.  I am beginning to feel like I have a personal relationship with it.  When I start talking to it, I will seek counseling.. Uh oh I think I did I did say "darn you" when painting the design... or something similar.
The pampered pear in the dish looks like she might be having little pears soon...but that's the way it was and I painted as is.

I have scheduled an oil painting WORKSHOP  October 28th and 29th in beautiful Fairhope, Alabama at the Fairhope Artist Gallery.    I am taking no more than ten artists, so sign up soon if you want to take the workshop.  Email me for more information.

LEMON WITH 2 FIGS

6 X 6 OIL ON WOOD PANEL
Vast color transitions in the figs called for a lot of equal value color placement.
Being conscious of the planes of the fruit I laid down luscious thick paint.
Worked harder than I wanted to get the nice fresh look.

HYDRANGEAS, FIGS AND LEMONS by Elizabeth Blaylock

20 X 16 OIL ON CANVAS
 SOLD
I painted this oil  from a still life I set up.    I was glad I photographed it on the first day
because those brown turkey figs lose their luscious colors very quickly.   They were huge and delicious by the way.
Painting all the beautiful colors in the white areas is always a fun challenge.

It's wonderful to have color in this world...what would your rainbows be without it.
Thank you God!!!
