This figurative beach scene of kids whooping it up on the beach was done over thirty years ago.

I have not had it up for sale in near that long. It is always interesting to look back at some older work and see the progression.

These little orange wildflowers are just beautiful on their long stems. From a distance they look like they are just floating above the ground. They are a lot easier to look at than to paint! The old medicine bottle is one I found in the dirt where they were planted.

GRAZING

This horse was grazing in a nearby field in Baldwin County, Alabama. I am told that it is not a palomino, but either a paint or pinto.

As I was taking the photo from the roadside, a cute little boy came by and informed me that the horse was his Grandma's and she would sell it to me if I wanted it. Unfortunately, it wouldn't fit in the car.

This boat painting was the 45 minute demo I did yesterday in my workshop. I do see a couple of minor changes in the reflections, I might make, but overall, I am fairly happy with it. Today was the last day of the workshop and what a wonderful group of artist they were!!! I will post some photos of the class tomorrow, tonite I am all tired out.

This is the demonstration painting I did yesterday for my workshop in Foley, Alabama.

I know it was a challenge for all of us but the colors of the yellow and orange bell peppers with the colorful bowls made an entertaining composition. Look for the big shapes (squint), emphasize the angles, and lose some edges,,,these were some of the things I wanted to stress.

It was stormy all day here and I finally gave up on painting. I got a good start on one before it got too dark in the sun room to paint. When it starts lightening I unplug everything electronic as we seem to get a lot of lightening hits here.

This rooster painting is one I did a while back. Why is it that rooster and chicken paintings always make you smile?

Well the Monday after New Years it's back to business. I managed to paint this colorful little boat painting after filling out forms for the Gulf Coast Claims Facility and then trying to figure out some IRS forms where we were not credited for some payments. Need I say I was a tad irritated and told my husband he best leave the area, I was going to paint. I am amazed myself that this painting appears so soothing. Perhaps I was painting the serenity I crave??
