OIL PAINTING OF ROSE IN SHADES OF YELLOW

YELLOW ROSE SOLO
7 X 5 OIL ON PANEL
This is a painting done for the Diana Moses Botkin Challenge. The August challenge was to paint a subject using only yellow, black and white. I used pale cadmium yellow, lamp black and titanium white. The beautiful paintings by the other artist are posted below. You can click on their names to go to their blog and find out more about their work.

You did a wonderful piece, Elizabeth! I'm so impressed at your energy and enthusiasm. Thank you for jumping right in for this month's Challenge.

I appreciate your kind comments. Using just yellow, black and white was indeed a challenge for me.

Beautiful painting! I love the bright complimentary colors in the background.

I don't think this is the plant that I know as oxalis. It looks like one that we call a gloriosa daisy. But it's hard to tell from a painting, and I'm certainly not an expert!

Thanks Virginia, I know you are talking about the painting I posted after the rose, the one with the two yellow flowers dancing in the wind.

You are right! I don't know how I posted to the wrong painting!
