OIL PAINTING OF TEACUP WITH LEMON ON A STRIPED CLOTH

TEA CUP WITH LEMON ON A STRIPED CLOTH
6 X 6 OIL ON PANEL SOLD
Yes, its the Old English Rose china again. I just really like the reds, pinks and oranges in the pattern. Also, its the only china I have. Considering I kept dropping my brush in the palette and my husband was sitting there reading all the bills to me (even after I asked him not to), I think an interesting painting managed to emerge.

I don't care how many times you paint this china, it is beautiful every time. Don't stop! How do you get the gold to look right? It's wonderful. Love your paintings!

Thanks Bobbi, I painted the gold with pure raw sienna, with a touch of alizarin in the darks and cad orange in the middle tones. For the lightess lights cad yellow with white. I am glad to hear that I am not boring everyone with the same subjects as I am sure I will paint another composition using the same china.

Hi Elizabeth,
first of all I like the colours you use a lot. They bring me in a good mood. And I am happy to see the "old english rose" again. I have a few place settings from my grandma and in our family it's called "funfair cup" too because it's so varicoloured. :-)

Wish you a good day
