LADY HUMMINGBIRD BY ELIZABETH BLAYLOCK

6 X 6 OIL on PANEL
This little hummingbird was actually perched on a tomato cage on my deck.
I am imagine she is enjoying warmer weather in the tropics now!  We are having some unusually cold weather here in Gulf Shores.  Hopefully back up in the 70s this weekend.

COPPER POT WITH LEMONS IN AN ORIENTAL DISH

24 X 24 OIL ON CANVAS SOLD
This oil painting is a larger version of a smaller one I did a while back.
Painting the copper reflective surface is fun with alL the beautiful colors.  The little oriental dish has a pattern of boys chasing butterflies.

PROTHONOTARY WARBLER

8 X 10 OIL ON STRETCHED CANVAS
I photographed several colorful birds at the spring bird-banding  on Fort Morgan peninsula last week.
These birds just completed migration from the tropics, about a 40 hour flight.  Fort Morgan is one of their first land stops in the States.   I have no idea how this really yellow warbler got the name prothonotary....what does that mean anyway??
More birds to come.
Also, I was really excited to find that one of my paintings was accepted for the 2013 Oil Painter of America  Salon Exhibition.   I am honored!
