 Painting white is always a challenge.  Lots of different colors involved to keep the whites lively and not pasty.  Absolutely no pure white used. Constantly asking is this section warm or cool.

I painted this oil  from a still life I set up.    I was glad I photographed it on the first day 

because those brown turkey figs lose their luscious colors very quickly.   They were huge and delicious by the way.  

Painting all the beautiful colors in the white areas is always a fun challenge.  

It's wonderful to have color in this world...what would your rainbows be without it.

This colorful oil still life was painted from life rather than a photo.  I have used the little oriental dish in several paintings as I think the pattern adds a lot of interest.

CAMELLIA IN A GLASS VASE

The camellia is the Alabama state flower.  These beautiful flowers are in bloom now and continue to bloom through out the winter months.
