This weekend I took a workshop with a great artist, WD Thompson. He does lovely glowing oils with a lot of palette knife. You can see his work at wdthompsonart.com. I felt that I was in a bit of a rut with my painting and a workshop with an artist whose work I admired just might be the fix. Did I ever have fun loosening up and playing with the palette knife. I did this impressionistic painting of cows yesterday and I think it has a pleasing freshness.
