GIRL IN A STRIPED SWIMSUIT PLAYING AT THE SURF'S EDGE

10 X 8 OIL ON CANVAS

This is the finished figurative painting I started as a demo in my recent workshop. I livened up the flesh tones by adding some cool reds in the shadows on the flesh.   Also, brought out some patterns and colors in the surf.    A lot of thick paint was applied on the water with the reflections.  Keep in mind that oil paint applied thickly with one stroke of the brush or palette knife will have a freshness and luster all on it's on.

This figurative oil painting of a cute little boy at the beach was another demonstration  for my  painting workshop in Fairhope, Alabama.   When I was near finished, I mixed up some big piles of  clean fresh color and laid it on thick to keep if lively.
