RED-HEADED WOODPECKER IN BUDDING BIRCH

I was delighted to find this red-headed woodpecker in the river birch tree in our backyard.
I like the gesture of all the branches reaching upwards with just a few springs of brightly colored buds against the ultramarine sky.
