POTTERY JAR WITH LEMONS AND APPLE

8 x 8 OIL ON STRETCHED CANVAS

I have had this little blue pottery piece sitting upstairs on the dresser for years and have just recently found how much fun it is to paint. There are so many wonderful colors in the glaze and reflections!

ACRYLIC QUICK SKETCH OF BLUEBIRD 2

6.5 X 6.5 ACRYLIC ON D'ARCHES PRIMED WATERCOLOR PAPER SOLD

The bluebirds are building their nests already.  In fact, I have an array of lovely birds feasting at the bird feeders...bluebirds, chickadees, red birds,  pine warblers, and sparrows, of course..  I do my best to scare of the blackbirds....the little pigs!

SAND PRINCESS BUILDING HER CASTLE

10 X 8 OIL ON PANEL  SOLD

This figurative oil beach scene  was the second demonstration I painted for the Foley workshop.  I warned everyone that the fore-shortening of the legs would not be an easy task, but they were all ready  for the challenge.  I wanted to keep the painting loose and fresh still using some of those lively grays.

Also today,I was honored to find out that I have been juried into OIL PAINTERS OF AMERICA
and WOMEN PAINTERS OF THE SOUTH EAST

PINK FLOWERS WITH A SIMPLE WELCOME

10 x 8 OIL ON PANEL    SOLD

This floral still life is the one hour demo I painted for my workshop yesterday.  In this painting, I wanted to show how grays can really be lively and pop your colors, too.  Wow, did I ever have a bunch of hard working artists...they were at the easel painting  a half hour early and through most of the lunch hour!  We had a lot of fun and hopefully learned a few things, too...  Remember..squint, put those darks in and work on the entire canvas!!

BOY WITH TOY TRUCK AT THE BEACH

10 X 8 OIL ON PANEL SOLD

This figurative oil painting of a cute little boy at the beach was another demonstration  for my  painting workshop in Fairhope, Alabama.   When I was near finished, I mixed up some big piles of  clean fresh color and laid it on thick to keep if lively.

BLUE POTTERY VASE WITH APPLES AND LEMONS

11 X 14 OIL ON  CANVAS

This is the first demo I painted in the  workshop this week.  I still see a couple of little things to change.  Also I am thinking this still life  setup might be interesting with a white cloth behind it... a little more dramatic, although  I  am pretty happy with the blues.

The art center in Fairhope has wonderful studios and I had a really fabulous bunch of artists  to work with.

There may still be an opening in the Foley workshop next week so give them a call,  as it will be my last one for a while.
