Not quiet finished with this one....near tho. Fisherman's Wharf  is full of great boat scenes to paint.  You would think I would pick something simpler to warm up after not painting for 8 days... the longest  time in three years!

Since I got back there has been one ordeal after another to deal with... besides the catch-up things.   Taking a vacation  seems to be more work than it's worth.  Next time I may just check in to a beach side condo here  in Gulf Shores.

This gentleman was enjoying an outdoor cafe at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterrey.  Carmel and Monterrey are full of beautiful scenery and friendly people.  Oh, and lets don't forget the fabulous art and food!  The paintings at the American Impressionist Society Show were stunning. 

Also my oil and acrylic portrait and figure painting workshop starts next week and I still have a couple openings.  Hard to believe it is almost November!

This is my 3rd pastel painting and I miss the magic of my rich creamy oils!!  I have about decided against taking pastels to Carmel. for the paint-out.  Maybe I will buy some oil paints there or just take a much needed vacation and forget the painting.  I do plan on taking tons of photos for new reference material.  I will probably not post for a week but please come back to see me.  Even tho, I don't always reply to comments,  I so appreciate your input. By the time I get thru painting and posting each day this senior citizen is totally exhausted..  .I did find out that my thyroid is not functioning right so hoping the meds will help there.

I like the fresh color in this little still life with bananas.  I kept the painting simple using broad strokes of clean color.  And yes I am going bananas, looking for new things to paint, trying to decide what to take to Carmel for the American Impressionist Show etc etc.   I think I am going to take pastels to use on the paint-out as I don't want to deal with transporting wet oils and getting them through airport security.
