Lately, it seems doing a quick sketch is a thing of the past. I wanted to do this really loose and quick but spent all day on this little oil painting with lemons I really like the little oriental dish that I found at the flea market and I am sure you will see it again in other paintings. Although I photographed this in natural light it seems too washed out from the original. I have a great camera but am wondering if I need a new digital card.

I have been working on making prints available of my paintings,,,what an ordeal !!!
I have ordered some test prints to see if it will work for me. I should have prints available soon.
Setting it up is very time consuming.
This painting is a departure for me as I rarely, if ever paint dusk or sunset scenes. Wow, and it was not an easy task!!! Better mix up your grays and carefully check your values for this type of painting Oh, and don't forget to keep in mind your wind currents for the clouds!!
This is the view from the Edgewater Inn across the Lions Bridge in St Augustine. We stayed there after the show and it is great!! All the rooms have a deck with rocking chairs on the back porch looking over the St. Augustine skyline. I lived in St. Augustine 28 years ago and boy has it grown. Wonderful art, galleries and food.. I had the best gyro sandwich ever at the Athena Restaurant downtown at Cathedral Place.

I have been painting since the first grade when teacher made me draw the Santa Claus on the blackboard for Christmas. (Of course that was pre ACLU). I am from Holly Springs, Mississppi originally, a small town in Northeastern Mississippi, where I had my first real art lessons from the local artist. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Southern Mississippi. After college I lived, painted and studied in New Orleans.
Currently I live in beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama with my husband Ed.
I love painting figures, still lifes, beach scenes, or just about anything else that gives me the opportunity to play with color and shapes.
My goal in painting is to have fun creating a visual feast for you to enjoy, all to the glory of God.
